Air travel made easy

We purchased 2 of the travel mates for our 4 and 2 year old and it was fantastic! We'd been recommended by a friend to take the car seats on the plane but the pain of taking the seats through the airport, hotels etc we thought was too hard. But then we found the Travel Mate! The kids loved being pushed or pulled around the airports and the hotels and as we made it fun they would hop in when they we asked, so we were able to contain them! (they also got a lot of attention from people oooing over our Travel mate) As it allowed us to easily transport the car seats through to the plane, we were able to use our own car seats on the flight (they both slept so well) and in the rental cars. Love it love it!

A must-have when traveling with a car seat

Relatively easy to take car seat on and off-I had to dissemble at 3 security check points so do wish the rachet system was easier to use. Folds up flat for storage in overhead bins and is light weight. Worked really well as a stroller in the airport. This product is the only way I could manage a car seat and two children alone.

A travel necessity when travelling with little people!

We just used the GoGoBabyz Travel Mate for our recent trip to Marrakech, Morocco and what a god send! My biggest concern was having our car seat for use when we arrived, and not only did it come in handy for getting the car seat from A to B but all the travel in between was made so much easier especially at busy, foreign airports when you don't want your little one running off while your searching for passports, boarding passes or shopping!
Also no need for a pram (which is great considering the limited baggage allowance) as whenever I've need a "pram" the Travel Mate has done the job.
An absolute necessity for us and any other family travelling with little people!

a must have when traveling with a carseat

Thanks Abby, for the speedy shipping so we can take our car seat on our trip to Blue Mountains and Uluru for the past week. GoGo Babyz is a big help in the airport and also in the car park. It is very easy to assemble and very easy to use.
I don't have any problem with the product itself. However, taking a car seat with us does give us some problems.
First, we have to check in at the counter because Qantas has to check the car seat to make sure it fits all the regulation. (I have to call them couple days earlier to get an approval from them as well).
Because of the car seat, we have to sit on the last row of seats which are very close to the toilet and I don't really like the smell around there (artificial fragrance) whenever someone opens the door.
Second, the security check at Melbourne wanted me to check my car seat as a oversize luggage. It came as a shock and I had to explain that Qantas allows me to bring the car seat on board with me.
After my car seat has come out of the X-ray check, they will hand check it again.
Third, I can use my car seat flying from Melbourne to Sydney and from Sydney to Ayers rock.
However, when we flew from Ayers Rock to Alice Spring, the staff on board did not allow us to use the car seat because they can't attach the hook securely. They took it away and placed it with other checked in luggage as they would do to a stroller/pram. (I don't quite understand why it can't be left on my son's seat or some other seats without a passenger).
The flight attendant told me that I can pick up the car seat when I walk down the stairs upon arrival.
However, when I stepped down the stairs, another flight attendant told me that I can not pick up my car seat there, it has to be claimed at the baggage claim area/belt like other checked in luggage even though we can see our car seat sitting on the floor about 10 steps away from us.
I was upset because we only have 30 minutes to change flight from Alice Springs to Melbourne. We don't have time for that. So I insisted that I was told that I can pick up my car seat on site since we are transferring to Melbourne in 30 minutes. At last, they ask some one to get it for us.
I am glad that my son can use his own car seat on plane and also in rental cars because it is safer and clean. However, I don't really like those surprises that came from the airline and security check.
To people who want to travel with their own car seat, this product is great and works as expect. Just prepare to have some surprises along the way.
